Worship in the Park… or Wherever You Are

“Sir,” the Samaritan woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”

“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.  You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.  Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the
Spirit and in truth.” – John 4:19-24

This Sunday we will enjoy worshiping in the park at the Union Grange Park in Kennewick at 10am.  My family is excited to worship together after my time away during the month of August.  It will also be a joyful celebration of the music ministry of Bryan Whitmore who is stepping down from his duties as Praise Team Director.  I hope you will join us as we worship in the park together.  If you are unable to be there in person, remember that you can worship wherever you are.  When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, they had a discussion about where the proper location was for worship.  Jesus replied that where didn’t matter so much as HOW we worship.  The Father seeks worshipers who worship in the Spirit and in truth.

So bring your heart to worship, wherever you are.

I’m coming back to the heart of worship, and it’s all about you.  It’s all about you, Jesus.  I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it, when it’s all about you.  It’s all about you, Jesus.  Amen.
