Restart for the Rebuild

 In Pastor's Blog

“Now Haggai and Zechariah prophesied to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them.  Then Zerubbabel and Joshua set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.      Ezra 5:1-2

Where are you getting your support these days?  We are all experiencing trauma fatigue and isolation. The prolonged disappointments of canceled trips, events and fear for the future might leave us feeling hopeless. As a church we strive to provide meaningful connections to one another and connections with God. But we can’t force you to watch the Sunday worship service or read the newsletter, you have to choose to participate and connect with those resources.

The people of God didn’t stay at a standstill on rebuilding the temple and the walls of Jerusalem. They were forced to stop for about 15 years but then they restarted the rebuild.  It was because the prophets of God were supporting them and encouraging them through that difficult, disappointing, and hopeless time.

What type of support would be welcome and helpful to you today?  Send me an email or give me a call. We are here to care for your needs and to provide prayer and support to you. We also need to hear from you about your comfort level with reopening and holding in person worship services.

Please, please, please, take a few moments and fill out this short survey about your comfort level of attending in person worship. Below in the RED BOX.

God, you are always with us. Even while we are socially distanced and feeling isolation fatigue, you are binding us together as the Body of Christ. Support us all the day long and help us know your presence and your love. Amen.
