I give thanks to God for you. This week, as we gather around tables with family and friends, watch football, and eat too much, I give thanks for you. Your dedication to God reaches young people in our community through Trailseekers, Homework Helpers and our Kennewick First Pres youth ministries. Your compassionate visits and prayers reach our homebound and congregants suffering illness and difficulty. Your service to the community feeds and provides for hundreds of families through Deacon Fund gifts. Your financial pledges to our church make space for our community partners to have a safe place to meet for scouts, fitness, sports, education, music, fun, and career training. You are a blessing to this community and you are a blessing to my family. Your commitment to the Lord, reaches across the globe to care for missionaries and projects in Malawi, Guatemala, Ecuador, Czech Republic, Uganda, and Jamaica.
This Sunday, December 1st, we will gather around the Lord’s Table to celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. We will also see and hear the report from our Embracing Orphans Mission Team to Jamaica. I hope you will join us in worship to give thanks to God together through the Advent and Christmas season. You truly are the heart and hands of Jesus reaching out across the world!
Loving God, thank you for the blessing it is to serve alongside your beloved children at Kennewick First Presbyterian Church. As we gather around many tables this week, may we feel your presence and love. As we gather around the Lord’s Table this Sunday, may we experience your grace, your forgiveness, and your peace in Christ our Savior. Amen.
