Leaning into God’s Future

“So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife [and] the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son…Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.”
Ruth 4:13, 17

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:1-3

We are a people who remember our past, including the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us, some of whom are named in Scripture (like Ruth and David), and some of whom are not. Simultaneously, we are also a people who seek to lean into God’s future.

As we continue to lean into God’s future and seek to run with perseverance the race marked out for this congregation, we have several congregational “news” items we would like to share with you. Please see this week’s newsletter for some important news regarding worship, the upcoming congregational meeting, and the upcoming launch of Kennewick First Pres’s new online church management system and directory (which we hope will make it so much easier to stay in touch with one another!).
