Water
At the end of this week, Vic and Julie Epperly, Lily Arzate, and Norma Cristobal will travel to Jocotan, Guatemala to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in the context of providing clean water in communities that need it. Kennewick First Presbyterian Church has been actively involved with this mission for a few years as we provide financial and human resources to Living Water World Missions (LWWM), a non-profit organization, that trains nationals in the building of clean water systems to make it safe to consume. In addition, parents, children, and interested others are trained in germ theory, hygiene, and the appropriate uses of clean water. Because of COVID-19, an in-person trip to Guatemala was cancelled, but we provided the funds for someone else to install a water purification system. When you fill your flask with fresh clean water this summer, remember to praise God for this resource that at times can be taken for granted. Please pray for traveling mercies for this team who will serve as an extension of our church. We are the church, engaged.
Hear our prayer O God, as we hear your call. If only the world heard your voice as clearly as the apostle Paul and recognized its truth. Grant us the strength to be your voice in this world. We pray for this world, so much violence and no solution; so much that has been done rightly or wrongly; and a fear and panic that no solution can be found. For ourselves, for those who are our family and friends we pray; those who we know are ill and those recovering; those who are lonely, anxious, confused, stressed we pray; and for those who bring color back to life we pray. Hear us, O Lord. Amen
