Sunday School

Welcome!

The Christian Education Committee is excited to provide a vital and alive Sunday School Program for young people. Our ultimate goal is to enable each young person to know Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior. We strive to establish a loving and caring atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to participate.
Christian Education is everyone's responsibility. As a church, we seek to help parents with their children's Christian development by providing classes and activities all the way through to high school. While we do provide a nursery for babies and toddlers, our formal classes begin with the 3 year olds. Sunday School classes are offered every Sunday morning at 9:40 AM, September through early June.

Special Events

As an extension of Sunday School, KFPC offers a great selection of special events for children and families.

Family Communion, February 25 in the Sanctuary

Family communion is held each winter; please watch the calendar for this event. If you feel your child is ready to take communion, or if your child has already taken communion but you feel it would be beneficial to have further instruction about this sacrament, we encourage you to come to Family Communion. This is a heartwarming experience for families that begins with a dinner then moves to the sanctuary where families take communion together.

Children Easter Celebration, March 22nd, 2 PM

(Easter egg hunt to follow)

Our Philosophy

Our Sunday School aims to:

  • Help parents with their child's Christian development.
  • Provide basic, relevant and practical Biblical instruction so children can make connections between what they learn in the Bible and what they experience in life.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of children and youth.
  • Have each lesson use the Bible as its foundation and authority, to have lessons that center on Christ, and to work together to lead students into a strong, vibrant faith in Christ.
  • Help young people sort out what it means to live a life close to God.
  • Motivate all young people to use their Bible.
  • Extend a warm, receptive welcome to other young people in the community so they might feel inspired to come share in our program and ministries.
  • Encourage parents to reinforce the Sunday School learning at home.

Sunday School Teacher's Covenant:

  • Our goal is to have the students hear the words of Jesus Christ, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by me." John 14:6.
  • We are Christ's instruments, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to fulfill this statement. We are responsible for nurturing our classes in the Christian faith.
  • We joyfully accept the responsibility of teaching in our Church during the 2004-2005 school year.
