The Presbyterian Women's Purpose (as stated on the national web site www.pcusa.org/pw )
The PW Purpose
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace,
- and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.
To this end the local Presbyterian Women's group hosts a wide variety of activities: Bible studies, book clubs, and regular bible based discussions within fellowship circles, as well as fund raisers for mission support. Church wide gatherings are held on a regular basis throughout the year to report on mission funding and plans, to listen to inspirational speakers, and for fellowship.
